On 26th May 2012, UNIS Prom was held at the Intercontinental Hotel. It was a great success and everyone had wonderful night. The guys looked dapper dressed in suits, and the ladies looked gorgeous, as they danced the night away.
There were many stylish dresses at this year’s prom, but the editors of The Flame have selected four to showcase for you. The theme for this year was Hollywood and we guarantee you these dresses were perfectly exquisite for the red carpet.
Kim Lan Mallon (Grade 9) stood out with a fancy dress featuring golden, eye-catching glitter. With the golden yellow colour scheme, Kim Lan stood out with elegant chic. To complete the look, she paired her outfit with dangling golden earrings, which made her look more stunning than ever.
This rosy-red hem dress belongs to Anna Muhlichen (Grade 12). The girl has transformed into a lovely rose with a rather simple single shoulder top and a floral ruffle hem. Anna’s selection of a red dress made her look lady-like; the floral hem pattern made her appear classier than ever. Bold and beautiful, we will remember Anna in this dress as she leaves UNIS and continues further musical studies in Vietnam.
The dark green turquoise dress worn by Christina Nguyen was a delight to see on the night. The most dominant feature of the dress is the key-hole neckline, complimented by a flowing fabric that defines her upper body. Christina kept the look fairly simple, with no accessories. The back V cutout brings out her skin tone and highlights her feminine figure without being too revealing. Furthermore, the golden chain suspended on the side of the dress adds a twist to the whole look. Her dark brown hair goes perfectly with the green nature of the dress, showing an elegant yet playful side to her.
Mrs Trebesch (HS IT teacher) definitely grabbed the spotlight the moment she stood on the yellow carpet of UNIS 2012 Prom night. Her dress was simple yet perfect with a polished, silky light beige material that gives away her casual personality that peaks and shines brightly in a crowd. She kept the styling to a minimum, matching the nude colour tone with pearl-based accessories. With this dress, who would think that Mrs Trebesch wasn’t one of the High School students?
