On Friday 13th, the Grade 10 drama class performed as living statues and mimes by Hoan Kiem Lake in order to experience drama at its purest.
Still as statues were Miss Drodz’s 10th grade drama class on Friday 13th by Hoan Kiem lake. Snapping holiday pictures with the group.“It was great to see people interacting and was a totally different experience, though it was increadibly hot.” – 10th Grader Emma Simson.The local looney begins singing around the group and their composure falters, though they persevere as he gets chased away by local authorities.A mass of locals and tourists alike gather to watch the spectacle in the square.After the motionless tableau the students launched into a mime scene which including daily life, mirroring each other and the famous ‘stuck in a box’Silent actions intrigued the crowd and allowed free interpretation.A daring passer-by even attempted to join the fun by miming his own skit with the student.The outing brought an unexpected result as it even stopped traffic.Though there was a slight change in plans, the afternoon was a success and proved to be a useful social experiment.
