1. Decapitated body found in northern Guerrero

Aide Nava was a 42 year old woman who was running for mayor in the violent region of southwestern Mexico. Her body was found decapitated in northern Guerrero. Last year 43 trainee teachers were abducted and would have been executed if they were not rescued. Enrique Pena Nieto, president of Mexico vowed to restore peace in Mexico. We don’t know who committed the crime but it is said to be done by Los Rojos, a Mexican drug gang. More than 100,000 people have died because of drugs cartels violence in Mexico over the past 8 years.

2. The Smog Documentary removed

A smog documentary created by Chai Jing called “Under the Dome” was censored by the Chinese government several days after reaching 100 million views. The video became unavailable in China following the suspension of Chai Jing’s account. Nevertheless, the 144 minute long documentary is still available on different platforms such as YouTube, which is not much help considering YouTube is blocked in China. The Chinese government is putting their best efforts in keeping the video from the people of China.

Unfortunately, due to the smog Chai Jing’s daughter was born with a benign tumor. She defines her tumor as her ‘personal battle’ against the air pollution in China.

3. Strikes in Chinese Factories

Around 5,000 factory workers are on strike in China. The workers are often rural migrants who have to travel long distances from their house to the factories. Therefore they are demanding that their employer pays the monthly government-mandated housing allowance that will allow them to live near the factory. Unfortunately, the workers of Stella Shoe Co. exclaimed that they haven’t received their allowance. The police and their K9 units are involved and were seen at the area of the strikes.
