The world did not end on December 21, 2012. Another prediction proved wrong.

The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, was heading toward the Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003; but when nothing happened, the doomsday date was postponed to December 2012. The prediction provoked more curiosity and worry when it is linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012. The doomsday was predicted to be one December 21, 2012.

Gia Han, 12 grader at UNIS, thinks that it will not happen because “NASA proved it to be wrong”  

NASA said “The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.”

 “Yes, it is going to happen because I believe so. Disasters are happening all over the world, typhoons, tsunamis and others.” said Zhen Wayne from Grade 12.
