Every quarter the Middle School Art teachers hold an Art Expo. The Art Expo includes all the artworks that are made by the grade 6, 7, and 8 students. We do it to celebrate the works that they (the middle school students) have made throughout the quarter. It is displayed at the Center of the Arts foyer, which is not far away from the canteen. It will only be there for two to three weeks. The MS Art Expo started last week, and it will be over sometime next week.
On Wednesday, the grade 6 band played in front of the canteen, and on Thursday, the grade 7 band played. Many of them were totally new to the instruments, but they played really well.
On Thursday, The grade 6 Drama class performed in the black box at lunch time. On the second day of drama performances, the grade 6 Drama group performed something about traditional Korean weddings. The grade 7 performed The Tempest by Shakespeare. They were great actors!
In the Center of the Arts foyer, grade 6 and grade 7’s art work are displayed.
The grade 7 students made artistic jars for UN day, and these jars were supposed to be representations of themselves. For Art, they made drawings and clay sculptures of mythical creatures that they created themselves.
The grade 6 made huge drawings which were made from small 9 drawings that each student had drawn for UN Day. They learned how to make a relief print wherein they curve the lino block and used ink to print in on the paper.
These art works are still on display at the Art Center. Make sure to check them out!
